LDW Highlights

For the 2026 edition of Lisbon Design Week, Maison Intègre presents a selection of new pieces and collaborations that highlight the creative vitality of its bronze workshop in Ouagadougou and its ongoing commitment to burkinabè artisans.

At the intersection of design, art, and traditional craftsmanship, the exhibition explores new forms, materials, and intercultural dialogues. Each piece emerges from a close relationship between hand and material, where ancestral techniques meet contemporary creative practices.

Founded in Ouagadougou in 2017, Maison Intègre is both a production workshop and a research platform dedicated to the valorization of local craftsmanship. Through collaborations with international designers and artists, the studio brings the work of its artisans to the global contemporary design scene, positioning craftsmanship as a driver of cultural, social, and economic development.

The exhibition features bronze pieces made from recycled materials using the traditional lost-wax casting technique, passed down through generations. Alongside these works, Maison Intègre expands its material research by incorporating textile practices developed in collaboration with local weavers and dyers, creating a dialogue between bronze, fiber, and natural dyes.

A new collaboration with artist Rachel Marsil is presented as a highlight. Invited for a five-week residency in Ouagadougou, she worked in close immersion with weavers, dyers, and bronze artisans. She presents a series of poetic and narrative wall pieces in bronze, inspired by everyday scenes and gestures observed during her time in Burkina Faso.

The exhibition space is entirely enveloped in handwoven textiles made from locally sourced cotton and naturally dyed by Maison Intègre’s artisan partners. This immersive environment emphasizes the materiality of the thread and the richness of natural pigments.

Maison Intègre also unveils new patinas in deep rust and brown tones, inspired by the landscapes, woods, and light of Burkina Faso. These developments expand the expressive potential of bronze and introduce new tonalities within the collection.

After several years of producing the first pieces in the bronze-makers' family yards, in 2022 Ambre Jarno founded the Maison Intègre workshop. She formed her team and brought together the skills needed to create bronze pieces in Pissy, a working-class district of Ouagadougou. Each piece is modelled in natural wax and then cast from recycled metal. By working with international designers and artists, Maison Intègre aims to showcase the work of Burkina Faso's craftspeople on a global scale and demonstrate that Burkina Faso's creative and cultural industries can generate economic and social development.
