LDW Highlights

For LDW26, Main Edition invited João Cabaço from Stood Design to present an eclectic selection of design objects, from his personal collection, all by Portuguese designers from different generations and backgrounds. Among them, Victoire de Lencquesaing will present her last creations.
The exhibition unfolds as a shared curatorial gesture, where design inhabits the house as it is lived but not staged. Friends, strangers, and local creatives are welcomed into the Lisbon house, where furniture, objects and artworks are dispersed throughout the rooms and the garden. The house becomes a place to wander freely in order to catch the right detail for a picture or to rest on the terracotta terrace, overlooking the Tejo. "O Longo Adeus" is an homage to the house Victoire build in Lisbon during nine years; but also a love letter to our capacity to transform and reinvent ourself.

Please note that visits will be possible by appointment only.

"O Longo Adeus" (The Long Goodbye)

Before leaving Lisbon, Victoire de Lencquesaing opens her private home and garden one last time, in Lapa neighborhood. Turning it into a living gallery, she curated a selection of iconic objects from “Coleção João Cabaço”, owner of Stood Design. To build this house, Victoire associated an historical typical Lisbon apartment from 1765 and the very contemporary modernist pink and wood architecture of Albino Alves Pinho (Arquitectura hôm), based in Faial (Açores).

Victoire de Lencquesaing is a French ceramicist and designer born in 1989. With Main Edition, she is modelling objects whose morphologies are inspired by the shapes of her hands. Open and offering, her creations are criss-crossed by mythological symbols and personal references. Victoire has collaborated with publishers (Chose Commune), architects studios (Reinh, Atelier AAVV), restaurants in Lisbon (Cherie Paloma and Fares), hotels (Tribe Paris) and perfumers (Atelier Cologne/L’Oréal). She also curated "Casa do Cura", one of the highlights of LDW24.
