A new feature of Lisbon Design Week 4th edition is the spotlight section. It consists of solo presentations dedicated to a single designer. Each Spotlight brings together works from different collections or periods of the designer’s practice, offering a focused view of their evolution, approach, and key themes.

These presentations are integrated along the Lisbon Design Week itinerary and take place within selected venues. Each Spotlight will be highlighted at its respective location, allowing visitors to encounter these focused exhibitions as part of the broader program.

Estrela / Lapa

Opening the door this year to their residence and studio, Further Ther present a full showcase of their material universe and process of collectible furniture, objects and spatial interventions.

The exhibition will explore the varying scale and applications of their design and the duality of their practice across ceramic and woodwork that is core to Ther practice; the organic process of Natasa and the engineer-led structural process of Tomas. In the exclusive view of their home.

Príncipe Real

Emmanuel Babled is invited into the gallery of Portugal’s most iconic artisanal artisit tapestry production. Babled presents works across glass, stone and furniture over the course of decades in his esteemed design career. His projects, often developed with workshops across different countries, are positioned here within a deeply rooted Portuguese context.

Av. da Liberdade / Marquês

The exhibition highlights the importance of making as a way of thinking for Vasco Fragoso Mendes. Early drawings and conceptual studies show the foundations of his visual vocabulary, while prototypes expose the trial and error that shapes each piece. Alongside these developmental works, finished furniture pieces demonstrate the refinement of form, material sensitivity and craftsmanship that define his current practice and have contributed to his growing international recognition.

Príncipe Real

At Made in Situ, his Lisbon gallery, Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance brings together for the first time pieces from seven collections spanning different moments of the project created in Portugal.

Made in Situ is a continuous line of enquiry, referencing landscape and organic materials specific to Portugal. Seen collectively, the work builds a broader narrative that extends beyond individual pieces, and a cultural dialogue and local commitment for this French designer in Portugal.

Graça / Alfama

Portuguese multidisciplinary artist and ceramicist Graça Pereira Coutinho presents a body of work which draws on personal and cultural references, translated into material compositions that carry symbolic weight. The exhibition will feature paintings, sculpture and installation pieces from the artist's portfolio spanning across several years.

Saldanha / Av. Novas

At ME Lisbon, Diogo Amaro, one of Portuguese Homo Faber fellows, presents a selection of pieces from three of his woodwork collections. Starting in architecture, and laterlatter immersed in the world of cabinetry at FRESS, his approach combines a distinctive mix of detailed, architectural structure with the craftsmanship of a woodworker. The exhibition will showcase the intricacies of his process and practice.

At QuartoSala, Brazilian designer Bernardo Figueiredo presents a retrospective selection of his work. Saldanha

Miguel Soeiro presents a selection of objects shaped by a process of reduction. His work removes excess to focus on proportion, balance and use, resulting in pieces that are direct and considered. Within the Gulbenkian context, the presentation resonates with a broader lineage of modern design.

Santos / Lapa

Alan Louis presents a series of works that sit between functional object and expressive intervention. The French artist, designer and ceramicist explore design through the lens of art and emotion. Familiar typologies are altered through distortion, scale or unexpected gestures, creating pieces that challenge conventional expectations.

Infante Santo / Alcântara

At Ligne Roset, Gonçalo Campos presents a low table from The Nenúfar Collection designed exclusively for the brand, displayed in various configurations and finishes, alongside earlier and independent pieces that trace the evolution of his approach.

Working closely with industry while maintaining a strong authorial direction, Campos often begins with use - how an object is handled, adjusted or lived with, before resolving form. Seen together, these projects reveal how ideas are tested, refined and carried forward across different contexts.

Don’t miss: the dialogue between the final piece and its original prototypes, where the original thinking and process are still visible.
