RE-DESIGN. REGENERATING SPACES, OBJECTS, IDEAS, RELATIONS.

Talk organized by The Italian Embassy in Lisbon with:
Architect Mario Cucinella, Founder & Creative Director MCA - Mario Cucinella Architects & Architect and Helena Botelho, the founder of the architecture, art and design studio Helena Botelho Arquitectura and a lecturer at the Faculty of Architecture and Arts at Lusíada University in Lisbon. She has collaborated with the practices of Gonçalo Byrne, Manuel and Francisco Aires Mateus, amongst others. She has curated and coordinated various exhibitions, catalogues and conferences, as well as serving as general coordinator of the “Projeto Rede, Public Art Gallery”. The work of her studio is based on the idea that the primary function of the architectural profession is the pursuit of the total quality of space and that, to this end, a multidisciplinary approach and specific research are essential, whilst constantly respecting the context of the project, be it the landscape, the city or the history of each place. With these objectives always in mind, she boasts extensive experience in projects spanning the most varied fields and scales of architecture, from the construction of new structures and homes to the renovation of existing buildings and spaces, including interior design and even bespoke furnishings for each project, always developing solutions tailored to specific problems. And since architecture today is not a profession closed in on itself, his studio also undertakes curatorial projects.
