novobanco Gallery - Inauguration of the Exhibition 'Perspectives of Belonging'
Bringing together contemporary design and photography, three curators with roots in San Francisco, Rio de Janeiro and Riga converged in Lisbon to create a multi-interpretative system within the gallery space. The installation interweaves the exhibited works and examines how perspective shapes our sense of being ‘inside’ or ‘outside’ space and time - exploring, in turn, the evolving nature of belonging.
At the core of the exhibition are contemporary design pieces that represent the transformative process of finding, redefining and reclaiming space as one’s own - as home - through the object–space relationship. Photographs from novobanco’s collection expand this system with a temporal dimension, suggesting links between past and present, presence and absence, and inviting viewers to reflect on the changing contours of what it means to belong. These interwoven systems offer both physical and poetic expressions of home - at once intimate and abstract.
