Material Session: Wool & Process by Rian van Dijk
This session begins with an introduction to the exhibition and the use of local sheep wool as a material. Rian van Dijk shares her process, showing how raw fleece is transformed into cohesive, tactile surfaces.
The session includes a short demonstration of the felting process, offering insight into how fibres connect and form a new material. Participants are then invited to take part in a hands-on felting experience, working with raw wool to create a small sample. Participation is limited to a small group (max. 8 participants) and operates on a first come, first served basis. Visitors are welcome to observe the session if the group is full. The focus is on material exploration, touch and understanding the behaviour of wool in a simple and accessible way. No prior experience is needed.
