Clair Obscur - Exhibition Opening & Cocktail

For this new edition of Lisbon Design Week, Flores Studio shines a light on its core expertise: the use of fabric and natural fibers in furniture design — a heartfelt tribute to the artisans with whom the studio collaborates closely.

Three signature pieces are presented:

Alba Cabinet: woodworking by Boato, hand-grown and handwoven linen from Portugal, naturally dyed by Isabelle Ormières.

Fungo Collection:
Daybed: woodworking by Boato, fabric by Bruder Fabrics, hand embroidery by Defio Rugs.
Fungo Pouf: woodworking by Boato, Handpainting by Weronika Ana Rosa.

Clarisse Sideboard: woodworking by Boato, natural fibers by Clarisse Pineau from Atelier Mouche.

The use of textile and natural fiber brings a poetic, tactile dimension to furniture — giving each piece a unique character that evokes a landscape, inviting us into a world of color and reverie.

After relocating to a new studio surrounded by a lush tropical garden, this vibrant natural environment became a central source of inspiration and in a way, a sort of reconforting shelter from an uncertain world situation. A mise en abyme of this extraordinary garden is recreated within the studio itself — a layered reflection where nature, design, and imagination mirror one another.

This tropical, vegetal atmosphere is palpable in the pieces on display and further enriched by collaborations with others artists:

Lucie Schweitzer – of Atelier Fantasque – created two tropical-inspired rugs, hand-knotted using Portuguese wool.

Barbara Portailler worked directly with leaves and seeds from the Flores Studio garden, translating them into abstract compositions on Flores linen using the cyanotype technique.

Alain Richard - photographer - Alain seeks to capture the landscape devoid of Human presence, elevating the presence of Nature. An invitation to become aware of the sublime beauty of the world we live in, reinterpreting our place within it .

Flores Studio thus invites us into an immersive botanical world — musky and vibrant, both humid and dry, both luminous and shadowy — evoking the dappled rays of light that pierce through the canopy of a forest or a jungle.
